Darn Walk (Dunblane to Bridge of Allan) 🥾 🌳

Several of our members have suggested walking the Darn Walk. This time we are going to start in Dunblane and walk south into Bridge of Allan. There will be an option to go for some lunch in Bridge of Allan, however this will be decided on the day so please note nothing will be booked in advance. Although the event will end once we reach Bridge of Allan, if you wish to also walk back to Dunblane you are more than welcome to!

📍 Meeting Point:
We will meet at 1030 in Dunblane, outside the entrance to the railway station (opposite the post office). James F is hosting the event, look for him. Together we can then head to the start of the walk.

How to Get to Dunblane:

🚂 Train 1010 train leaving Stirling bound for Aberdeen, arrives Dunblane 1016 (£4.80)

🚌 Bus 1012 Citylink coach service ‘M8’ leaving Stirling bus station heading for Dundee, arrives Dunblane police station 1029 (1 minute walk downhill to railway station)

🚗 Car You should be able to find unrestricted parking in the vicinity of Dunblane railway station on a Sunday.

⏰ When:
Sunday 3 August, 10.30 start from Dunblane railway station.

👣 The Walk:
The walk is a fairly easygoing one at just under 3 miles, however due to the terrain being uneven please wear appropriate walking shoes and come dressed for the weather. 🍽️ Lunch:
There are some nice places to get lunch in Bridge of Allan. We can decide closer to the time our preference. Please note that the event host will not be arranging lunch, if somebody wants to take on this task they are welcome to do so.

🌦️ Weather Forecast:
The current weather forecast is for cloud with sunny spells, with a limited chance of rain. In the event of light to moderate rain the walk will still go ahead, please check the Meetup app for any updates.

📋 Reminders:
Please wear sensible footwear as terrain is uneven.

Double check the weather forecast before setting off, to decide on layers/waterproofs.

All guests to be accounted for in the numbers, so we know who to expect.

Please don’t be a no-show, out of courtesy to others please change your status to ‘not going’ with as much notice as possible.
