Welcome to Stitching Together Our First Fashion Designs. This group is for anyone who has ever looked at a garment and thought they might like to try making something of their own, but felt intimidated by the process. Whether you have never picked up a needle or you have a few basic sewing skills and want to start applying them to actual design work, this is a place to figure it out together.
We meet to share the basics of sketching, pattern making, and garment construction in an informal setting. The goal is to move from a rough idea on paper to a wearable piece, focusing on learning the fundamentals rather than perfection. We are here to support one another, share what we learn from our mistakes, and help each other get comfortable with the craft of fashion design one stitch at a time.
