What we're about

During these challenging and uncertain times with the COVID - 19 pandemic, I am still offering support. It may seem that without physical touch and the freedom to go where we want, when we want, makes reaching out for support even harder. The extreme isolation and increased safety measures we are enduring is changing the grief experience. Thankfully, I am still able to support virtually, until the time comes that we are able to, once again, meet in person.

Please contact Maggie Shields at 416-529-1095 to inquire about grief support.

Grief support meetings, which are oriented for loss of an adult, are currently held online

Our bereavement support is facilitated by a professional grief counsellor and offers an atmosphere where people can normalize reactions which might feel abnormal after suffering a loss. This is a safe place where those dealing with grief are understood without judgement. We will walk with you through the wilderness of your grief in an understanding and compassionate manner. Our sessions are non-denominational, private and confidential over ten to twelve consecutive weekly sessions. Facilitator Maggie Shields, trained at the Dr. Worfelt's Centre for Loss & Life Transition, uses Dr. Worfelt's Understanding Grief program as a base for these sessions. A small, one-time fee for materials will be applicable.

Grief support which is oriented for the sudden loss of an adult from unexpected causes (including drug overdose, motor vehicle accident, surgical complications, misadventure, suicide, drowning or homicide) may also be scheduled.

Grief support oriented for the loss of a pet can be scheduled starting in 2021.
