Bubble Tea Time: Introductions

TL;DR: Asian Americans are cool. Asian Americans come process together at Spoonful on July 30 at 2 PM.

It has been a blast getting to meet so many people in this group! We want this community to be a space where we enjoy relaxing watch parties but also spaces to process deeper topics.

In hopes of understanding how diverse the Asian American experience is, we want to have regular Bubble Tea Time. This will be where we can discuss different topics regarding Asian America (gender, class, mental health, immigration, sexuality, etc.).

For the first Bubble Tea Time, we'll do general meet and greet to hear what topics you are interested in. We'll meet at Spoonful on July 30th at 2 PM.

Due to harmful stereotypes of what it means to be Asian American, I want to say that Asian America is diverse: multiracial, adoptee, South Asian, non-US citizen, refugee, and much more. We don't want to miss out on your story, so please come and share if comfortable.

For our non-Asian friends who would like to join, we welcome you but also ask that you would allow this to be a processing space for the Asian American members. Although we appreciate the desire to learn more about cultures, we ask that members of this demographic are not placed in a position to have to teach about their experience, but freely share.
