The first ever Cinema St. Louis Asian Film Festival is a vibrant celebration of cinema that spans cultures, histories, and identities, weaving together stories as wide-ranging as Making Waves: The Rise of Asian America, which documents the fight for representation and visibility; Return to Seoul, a searching portrait of belonging and dislocation; Yi Yi, a luminous exploration of family, memory, and the passage of time; and Shoplifters, a tender yet unflinching look at survival and chosen bonds. Together, these films embody the complexity and vitality of Asian cinema, offering audiences an intimate and expansive journey through lives that are both deeply personal and universally resonant.
