Make Custom NVMe Enclosure? Group Brainstorming Session
Details
Welcome to this week's Meetup!
We're gonna try something new for project weekends. We'll dive into a larger, more involved, project series that will introduce smaller sub-projects every other weekend until we're done. We'll start off with a brainstorming session to see what project ideas everyone may have, and we can decide from there what and how to work through each feature, part, subassembly, on-through to our final top-level assembly.
We'll be using Fusion for the CAD work, but there will be coding requiring programming tools to be determined depending on the project we want to focus on. Right now, I'm thinking about making a custom USB-C Thunderbolt compatible NVMe SSD enclosure and PCB design with read speeds of 10Gbps. However, we can decide to make something else instead. And each person can personalize their design without compromising function. So, stop by this or next weekend to provide feedback before we dive further into the research and build!
As always we're here to help lay the foundation for self-learning or future development. If you want to continue alone with any project from a prior week, then go for it, or let's build on it together. We'll also introduce a fun project every other Sunday and offer general study sessions on Sundays in-between using various CAD software. Let us know if you have any suggestions for future projects or wish to help co-host one. You're always welcome to stop by and hangout or to work on individual projects.
We look forward to seeing you there or at the next one!
For those who have never been to Arch Reactor there will be pizza and drinks available in the kitchen. You can Paypal/Venmo AR or drop cash in the donation box. If you do bring your own food and drinks, please make sure to clean-up after yourself. This is a shared space where members and the public may need access to clean surfaces while we're there.
