What we’re about
Welcome to the St. Louis Effective Altruists Meetup! We're a local chapter of Effective Altruism, a movement focused on using evidence and reason to have a bigger altruistic impact on the world.
Our vision for this Meetup is a group for professionals to socialize and cultivate our shared interest in altruism. We’ll discuss new ideas and learn more about altruism at book clubs and presentations, and we’ll bond over movie nights and shared meals. Anyone is welcome to our events free of charge, so we hope to see you soon!

Join the Saint Louis Effective Altruists for a selected reading of Space Shuttle Stories by Tom Jones, author and veteran astronaut!
Before his career as an author and science communicator, Jones completed space shuttle missions and spacewalks to help build the International Space Station. His book recounts personal vignettes from every space shuttle mission, collected firsthand from the astronauts who undertook them.
To attend, you must RSVP on the event page on the Left Bank Books website. Attendance is free, and signed copies of the book are available if ordered by 12 PM on June 27th, the day of the event.
RSVP now and spread the word—we can’t wait to see you there!
