Valhalla is a historic cemetery that has included Chinese immigrants in St. Louis dating all the way back to the late 1800s. The area has been neglected with some tombstones covered.

Inspired by the Tomb Sweeping event held by APIA for Black Lives group, we are volunteering to help clear out parts of the cemetery to honor and ensure that the names of the Asian community before us can be remembered.

Also, if you have any of the following items, it may be super helpful to bring:

  • gloves
  • weed wacker
  • rags
  • spray bottles
  • hedge clippers
  • yard waste bags

For those interested, we can go to O! Wings afterwards for some delicious Korean fried chicken 😻

Update: Fun special guest! Mama Poon will be joining to translate the Chinese tombstones so we can learn more of the stories of the people at Vanhalla.
