Atlassian tools are incredibly powerful — but sometimes, in our effort to optimize, we accidentally overcomplicate the very workflows meant to help us move faster.

If you’ve ever looked at a Jira workflow and thought, “How did we get here?” — this event is for you.

Join us in ST. LOUIS as we dive into one of the most common friction points in App Dev environments: overly complex Jira workflows that slow down delivery instead of accelerating it.

Our featured session:

How to Simplify Your App Dev Workflows
Complicated Jira workflows can slow down the flow of work in your App Dev process. Join us as we explore common complications in Agile workflows, their negative impact on your teams, and practical alternatives using existing Jira capabilities.

You’ll walk away with practical, actionable insights on how to:

✨ Spot common misuses and over-engineering inside Jira workflows

✨ Understand how workflow complexity impacts flow, predictability, and team productivity

✨ Simplify workflows to better align with Agile practices across teams of different sizes

✨ Leverage other Jira capabilities instead of relying on heavy workflow customization

✨ Create cleaner, more maintainable configurations that scale with your organization

Our presenter will be Marc Brickley! Marc is the Director of Application Development at Moser Consulting, and the Product Manager of Clear Path for Jira in Moser Labs. Marc has over twenty years of experience leading custom application development teams. He has an extensive background in both the federal government and commercial sectors, with experience in military aviation, logistics, and consulting. Marc is passionate about using Agile processes to create digital products that improve peoples' lives. Marc is sharing his insights and experiences as the author of The Product Ref publication on Medium.com.

👆 If you manage Jira, configure projects, lead delivery teams, or are simply trying to improve flow in your organization — this session will be highly relevant.

And of course…

We’re excited to continue building momentum with our St. Louis Atlassian Community. Whether you’re an admin, product leader, Scrum Master, developer, or executive sponsor — this is a great opportunity to connect with others navigating similar challenges.

You’ll have time to network with fellow community members, share your own workflow wins (and horror stories), and swap ideas in a relaxed setting.

So come on out and bring a colleague who’s ever said “Why do we have 17 statuses?” 😄

As always, free food and drinks will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Hosted By

Tom Crespi, Atlassian User Group Leader

Tom's academic background is in the biological sciences. His undergrad experiences included research and that interest in learning and discovery carried into early career experiences in quality improvement for companies including Chevron, Monsanto and Bayer.

Organizational change management became a passion in 2002. The realization that employee engagement was a powerful factor involved in successful change led to his interest to explore, recommend and eventually to deploy a succession of collaboration tools over the past 20 years. These tools were utilized in the change management practice he led for almost 20 years at Graybar (Fortune 500 distributor).

He has spoken publicly about the value of collaboration applications in organizations, spent a few years on a popular application's Product Advisory Board, and has certifications that attest to his knowledge and understanding of how to use and deploy them.
