Reminder: St. Louis Craft Beer Society Moving to Heylo

As a reminder, this Meetup group is transitioning to Heylo. The platform is free to use and create a profile for yourself; the link for our group is:

The process will not be immediate. I will be posting events, event updates, and comments in the group on both platforms for the next couple months, so no one will miss any event information if you are only on one platform or the other, but the eventual goal is to transition fully to Heylo.

WHY?
About two years ago, Bending Spoons bought Meetup.com and ever since, the experience and usability of Meetup has diminished for both organizers and members of groups. Organizer fees have gone up substantially without any improvements in organizer tools and some aspects of the platform have even downgraded; for members, you have been bombarded non-stop to subscribe to Meetup+, which is deceptively not necessary to use the platform, and has paywalled features that used to be free since Meetup's creation. The future of Meetup with Bending Spoons is questionable, so I had taken time to search for an alternative platform and Heylo has been a positive experience so far.

Here are some reasons why Heylo looks like a good fit for the group:

• Provides all the basic event creation and organization tools similar to Meetup.
• Free for group members to use with no feature paywalls.
• Integrated group chats, so now we can have group chats directly in the platform our group is based.
• Smoother app experience.
