Parsing JSON using the elm/parser library

Details

Come join us to learn Elm and work on projects! Beginners welcome!

Last month we explored the elm/parser library to evaluate simple expressions. This month we'll build on what we learned by using the same library to parse JSON. As we saw, it's really flexible, but can be somewhat tricky to get started with. We'll be learning as a group by continuing the mob-style parsing we used last month.

Weren't here last month? No worries. We'll cover the elements that you need. Also, bring your parsing ideas and we may try them too!

We love getting a diverse group of people, from beginners to experts, so if you are on the fence about coming out, just go for it, especially if:

• Totally new to Elm? Getting Elm installed? Writing your first program? It will easier if you work with folks who have done it before!

• Starting a project? Maybe you have been eyeing Elm but don't know how it will work for your project. Fastest way is to ask us about the specifics or pair with someone here.

• Open source? - There are always interesting projects (https://github.com/elm-lang/projects) that could improve Elm, and talking with core team members and contributors is a great way to dive in.
