Scala + Ruby = Scruby! Now with extra Scala

Details
What could be better than Ruby? How about Scala and Ruby, together for no reason?
On Monday, September 9th, we'll shake up the user group scene with the first-ever Scruby Meetup. A talk about Scala, a talk about Ruby, and a lot of meeting people. Give it a try!
UPDATE:
Good news! Tomko canceled his talk. (That's not the good news.)
We have a last-minute speaker: Rúnar Bjarnason is from Boston, wrote Functional Programming in Scala, and helps maintain the scalaz library. And many other awesome things. I'm super excited about this talk!
Pat Berryhill: Things to like: Ruby.map { Scala }
Do you love static typing and curly braces? If so, you'll love Scala! If not, you will soon! It's time to get some Scala code up on the big screen at The Able Few. Pat will show some of his favorite language features, including how some perks of Ruby map into Scala. There's a REPL, functional and OO style, low boilerplate, modules, duck typing, & more. If you've never seen Scala before, remember: sentences containing the word "can't" are not allowed unless they also contain the word "yet."
BYOB!!!
Rúnar Bjarnason: Purely Functional I/O
