Europe just announced a €200 billion bet on AI. The "AI Continent Action Plan" (released April 2025) lays out how the EU plans to compete with the US and China: through AI supercomputers, data sharing, talent pipelines, and yes, regulation.

But will it work? What does it mean in the Swedish context, and what's missing from the plan?

Join us for an interactive discussion where we'll dive into and debate the EU's strategy. No previous policy experience is required to participate, just curiosity about how billion-euro decisions shape the technology in all of our lives.

During the event you will work with other participants to audit one section of the plan (infrastructure, data, adoption, skills, or regulation), before discussing your findings with the group. Together we’ll connect the dots, deepen our understanding of the plan, and question where it falls short.

Before the event: Read the Action Plan (25 pages, ~1 hour) with the following question in mind:

  • What's one assumption this plan makes that might turn out to be wrong?

Don't worry if you don't manage to read the entire plan ahead of time, you’ll be able to fill in any gaps in your understanding during the event. If you don’t have time to read everything, read one or two of the five sections that sound most interesting to you.
