### Autonomy and Intimacy: Navigating the Spaces Between Us
Modern life gives us unprecedented freedom to shape our own identities, set our own boundaries, and pursue personal independence. Yet, we remain deeply social creatures wired for shared experiences, mutual reliance, and profound connection. Balancing these two realities is one of the most subtle challenges of human life.
In this session, we will move past surface-level conversation to look at how we navigate the space between individual sovereignty and deep connection. We will explore how different people define self-sufficiency, how our expectations of relationships are evolving, and what it actually means to show up fully for ourselves while showing up for others.
Themes we will explore together:
- How we distinguish between a healthy personal boundary and unintentional isolation.
- The varying ways people experience the balance between personal freedom and commitment to others.
- How the cultural shift toward self-reliance is reshaping our expectations of friendship, romance, and community.
This is an open space for sharing perspectives, questioning cultural norms, and examining our own assumptions. Bring your curiosity, your personal insights, and an openness to seeing the world through different lenses.
We meet at Espresso House on the second floor, not the small one on the ground floor.
If your plans change, please update your RSVP to “Not going” so others can register.
Thanks.
