Join us for a Brazilian evening packed with music and dancing on Sunday February 1 in the south of Stockholm ✨🇧🇷

Forró is a Brazilian dance that anyone can try. Simple steps, friendly people, and music that makes it hard to stand still. We start gently, warm up together, and help everyone grow. Beginners learn the basics while returning dancers refine their flow, and before you know it, the boat has turned into a cosy party where you can dance, unwind, and enjoy the evening with us 👌🎶

What is the event about?
Forró Workshop + Party is a monthly event organized by Forró Project. It starts with a beginner friendly workshop and continues with a cosy social dance on a boat, promoting Brazilian forró in Stockholm and welcoming both newcomers and experienced dancers.

What is forró?
Forró is a partner dance and a music genre that originated in northeast Brazil and has evolved to include many different rhythms and dance styles. It was originally associated with the working class, but today it is very much international.

Why should you visit us?
Nothing like a good forró party to dance, enjoy great music, meet old friends, make new ones, and have a great time on a Sunday evening.

Do not have a dance partner?
It is very common at forró parties to come without one. We pair up during the workshop, and we dance with everyone at the parties.

  • Tickets will be available for purchase online soon and at the door.

Our teachers and artists are professionals from Brazil with many years of experience, bringing authentic knowledge and passion to every workshop and event.

Useful information:

  • Dance workshop: A guided introduction for first timers and a warm-up for returning dancers.
  • Food and drinks: We sell alcohol free drinks only. You are welcome to bring water if you need it.
  • Alcohol: Personal alcohol may not be brought into the venue.
  • No partner needed: Partner rotation during the workshop and dancing together during the party. Coming solo is normal and welcome.
  • Dress code: Wear comfortable shoes. Indoor shoes preferred. Clean your shoes before entering or bring a spare pair to protect the dance floor.
  • Cloakroom: Unguarded and free to use. Please leave jackets there for fire safety, and keep only your valuables with you on the dance floor.
