🌙 Ramadan Kick-Off & Iftar Gathering

First weekend of Ramadan 2026 (first day expected: Thursday, 19 February)

🕌 About the Event
A warm and welcoming community iftar to mark the first weekend of Ramadan together!
This will be a dish-party iftar, where everyone brings one meal or more, a dessert to share.
We’ll enjoy a relaxed meal together, listen to some Qur’an recitation, before heading to the mosque for those who wish to join.

🌙 Agenda

• 15:30–17:00 – Arrival, chat and setting up the food
• 17:00 – Iftar together 🌙
• 18:30 – Clean-up & head to mosque in Medborgarplatsen for Night Prayers (Taraweh) for those who want.

Location:
Globen—inside the Globen Shopping Center.
A cozy and practical indoor space that’s easy to reach by metro, with free spaces for prayer and/ or private phone calls.

The exact venue (including which floor and the full address) and detailed directions on how to get there will be sent privately to everyone who RSVPs.

The cost of renting will be 450 SEK. The cost will be divided among attendees and a small Swish payment will be required.

Who Can Join
This is a Muslim and faith-based gathering.
Non-Muslims who are curious about Ramadan, fasting, and Islamic traditions are more than welcome to attend and share a meal.
You are welcome to bring friends or family members (max. 2).
Please make sure that you RSVP the number of guests you're bringing while confirming your attendance.

Practical Details (more info to come)

• Please bring one dish and/or one dessert to share.
• To avoid duplicates, we will coordinate who brings what in a private WhatsApp group after the sign-up deadline. (The link will be shared with those who register.)
• Please make sure you do not bring any food that contains, or might contain bacon or alcohol or even traces of them.
  The organizers will provide bread, drinks, trash bags, and decorations.
• Tea and coffee will be available at the venue.
• The venue is equipped with microwaves, cutlery, plates, and restroom facilities.
• A quiet space for prayer (individual or group) will be available.
• We kindly ask everyone to help with clean-up, including placing dishes in the dishwasher and collecting trash.
