Qigong with Maria Hallström
Every second Tuesday Maria Hallström offers qi gong at Yeshin Norbu Centre. Qi gong involves conscious movements to optimise energy flow, flexibility, strength, breathing and coordination in a calm and meditative state. The movements are flowing and gentle, but the effect is powerful and invigorating for both the musculoskeletal system and the mind.
In qi gong we find a dimension that is often missing in other forms of training where the emphasis is mostly on musculature and physical structure. That dimension is awareness, that is, the concentration on the inner power reinforced by conscious breathing.
Another important aspect of qi gong is experiencing different expressions of energy in the body. Qi gong literally means ‘energy work’, or more figuratively translated: ‘to cultivate life energy’. Here we have the opportunity to create and experience both subtle but also vibrating and pulsating energy in our muscles, joints, bones, connective tissue and the communication system in the form of our energy pathways.
Most Welcome to join these invigorating classes!
