... Who Will Play Songs & Answer Questions Abt. His Stage Tech & Techniques

Hi Everyone, :)

I would like to promote this very special meet-up which is already scheduled through another group, so i'm hoping our groups can collaborate on this one?

Elyas Khan is a British alt-pop artist (signed to Vicious Circle - France; & BBE - world), composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and long time independent musician, whose unique use of technology has earned him a sponsorship from Native Instruments. Not only is his music remarkable, (Check out this radio edit of, "Bells"!),

but his stage tech and techniques would be of interest to any songwriters or gear-heads who may be curious about creating bigger, or 'more unique' sound, with a relatively small set up. Elyas' stripped-down, high energy, stage show, along with years of experience as a touring, performing artist, have led to his creative use of samplers, manipulators and pedals (the SP404 and Kaoss Pad), double amp techniques, and split vocal mic-ing. Here's the original meet up link: https://www.meetup.com/Stockholm-Musicians-Meetup/events/227691037/

Elyas will be happy to speak and answer questions about songwriting, and the ways he is using technology to keep himself light on the road, allowing him to record and work while touring. We hope he'll play a few songs, too.

He will be traveling with his wife and manager Melissa Fowler - founder of the former Berlin based Artist Services & Record Label, Pebble Music. Melissa has worked for many years in artist management, distribution and label management. So, she will also be available to answer questions and chat about making a living as an independent artist or just landing a record contract.

EVENT LOCATION: We do have a Sodermalm apartment where this event can take place, but ideally we would love to find and confirm a location (bar, music store or studio) set-up for sound.

PLEASE RSVP! so that we can select a venue size. If we need to pay for the venue, we will share a cost below 40Sek per person. /Frank

OFFICIAL BIO: A powerhouse on stage, “taking the spiritual and making it gleefully profane”, with a voice like “melted fucking chocolate over bourbon”, Khan draws influences from his UK-Indian heritage and his creative upbringing in NYC art and music scene to create a dark, sensuous mass of sound, invoking a post punk, Led Zeppelin, electro / folk / funk / urban / nomadic freak-out! His primal instrumentals, ancient vocals, electronic chaos, and bass heavy grooves generate music as at home beside classics like Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart as it is with contemporaries like Flying Lotus or Caribou.

Dubbed “Royalty in dirty disguise” by a fan, ELYAS KHAN, solo and with his Brooklyn based band NERVOUS CABARET, has shared stages with Amanda Palmer, Brian Viglione, Animal Collective, Coco Rosie, Anthony & The Johnsons, Sonic Youth, Nouvelle Vague, 17 Hippies, Tarif de Haidouks, Alain Bashung, Jamie Lidell, and many others, while touring the US and Europe including major festivals.

“High voltage savageness… A furious sound orgy, a real morality of excess!” INROCKUPTIBLES

“Khan stands out for his wonderfully gritty delivery” NEW YORK TIMES

“A voice like fucking chocolate doused in bourbon” SOLD OUT MUSIC

"Mark him down as a genuine innovator in pop music. This is actual innovation” thesoundofconfusionblogspot
