This group aims to bring together data engineers, developers, platform operators, and other enthusiasts to discuss and share the latest trends and best practices in the field of open source technologies, with a special focus on data management, processing, and analytics. We will cover PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Cassandra and many many more.
Do you have a new open source project that you have started, or that you’ve just discovered, and that you want to share with the community? We’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro with years of experience, or you are just starting your career or studies in a relevant field, we want to build an an open and inclusive community where you can expand your knowledge, share your experiences on how to build scalable, reliable and secure data infrastructures, and network with professionals, academics, and others.
We’re always looking for new community members to host events and share their knowledge! If you or someone you know is interested in getting involved, please reach out to the group organizers.
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers at an Open Source Data Infrastructure meetup are required to agree with the following Code of Conduct. ## Talk 1: What Today’s Customers Will Soon Demand
AI is changing how we solve problems. To create value we will need to prioritize the most suitable use cases. In this talk Andreas will explain how the customer journey in the insurance industry changes with the introduction of AI. Contrasting how we serve customers traditionally, vs how customers will want to be served in future, Andreas will draw out key concerns for a changing business climate.

## Talk 2: Building the Backbone for AI
Given that AI will help us solve problems in new ways, how do we align our IT resources with business needs? This talk will focus on the use of streaming data and integration architectures to build data platforms that provide the flexibility and scalability that AI needs. Enabling modern organizations to deliver reliably on user expectations and release new service offerings at increasing cost and speed.
