In the eyes of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, the number 3 was regarded as the perfect number. Therefore, why not capture 3 locations in a single event?
Meeting point:
Let’s gather in front of St. Catherine's Church. We’ll then take a walk and photograph these 3 locations:
- Mäster Mikaels Gata
- Åsöberget kulturreservat
- Vitabergsparken
Brief history of each location:
Mäster Mikaels Gata:
Mäster Mikaels gata is one of the best-preserved streets showcasing old Stockholm. This area was destroyed during the fire of 1723. Even though building wooden houses was banned, the houses that line Mäster Mikaels gata were constructed of wood. They were completed in 1729. We’ll photograph these colorful wooden houses.
Åsöberget kulturreservat:
This has been a cultural reserve since the 1950s. Most of the buildings are one story and more than 300 years old. They are all painted with Falu-red paint.
Vitabergsparken:
The park’s high elevation makes it a great viewpoint of Södermalm on a sunny summer’s day. Built in 1897 to give the factory workers a place for relaxation, the park still features many typical 19th-century buildings.
Fika info:
We can have a fika in the park at KAJSAS or stroll down to Ringvägen, where there are several cafes. One option is Lilla Caféet på Söder.
