The Stockholm Stoic Meetup, together with Stoiska Föreningen, warmly invites you to a thematic presentation titled: The Timeless Wisdom of Stoicism — From Ancient Greece to the Age of AI.
On December 13, 2025, we formally founded Stoiska Föreningen with a simple but ambitious aim: to create an open and thoughtful space in Stockholm for exploring Stoic philosophy as a living practice, not merely a historical subject. This event is part of that ongoing journey. Stoicism was born over 2,300 years ago, yet its ideas have resurfaced in every era—guiding emperors and ordinary people alike, influencing ethics, psychology, and modern approaches to resilience and responsibility. In this presentation, we will explore how Stoicism has endured through time and why it speaks so clearly to the challenges of modern life, including rapid technological change and the rise of AI.
The talk will offer an accessible and coherent overview of Stoicism’s core ideas, focusing on how they can help us live with greater clarity, calm, and integrity.
No prior background in philosophy is required.
The presentation will last approximately 30–40 minutes, followed by an open and friendly discussion where we can reflect together and connect Stoic insights to everyday life.
This meeting is also an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and take part in a growing community dedicated to thoughtful conversation, practical philosophy, and mutual respect. None of the organizers are philosophers by profession. We are simply people deeply interested in Stoicism who believe philosophy should remain open, humane, and practical. Whether you are new to Stoicism or have been curious for a long time, you are very welcome.
