Nature Hike: Cosumnes River Walk (Galt, CA)

🚶🏻 Quarterly Hike: Cosumnes River Walk

Check out this 3.3-mile loop trail near Galt, California. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 57 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

🐕 You'll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren't allowed on this trail.

Our hikes take place quarterly, on the third Saturday of February, May, August, and November.

🗺️ Getting There

You have two options to join the group:

1. Meet at McDonalds (6440 W Banner St, Lodi, right off I-5 and Highway 12) at 9 AM and we can caravan or carpool there, or
2. Meet at the Cosumnes River Preserve lot at 10 AM. Please see the meeting location in this event's photo album.

🧺 Pack a Picnic Lunch

At some point during the hike, we'll stop and enjoy a picnic lunch. Please bring your own meal(s) with you.

We'll start the drive back sometime close to 1 PM.

👟 What to Wear and Bring

It'll be hard to predict the weather, so we suggest you wear layers in case it's warm or cool. Definitely wear comfortable shoes adequate for a hike and bring a water bottle.
