Lodi No Kings 2.0

Details

This peaceful protest isn’t about left vs. right. It’s about unchecked power.

We are protesting leaders who act above the law, and we will no longer be silent while democracy is taken away.

In Front of Lodi Lake @ 4-8 PM, on Independence Day.

📢 Join Us on July 4th as we protest against:
🚫 Authoritarianism
🚫 Corrupt Leadership
🚫 Racism and Xenophobia
🚫 Arrests without Due Process
🚫 Christian Nationalism
🚫 Oligarchy
🚫 Systematic Injustice
🚫 Secrecy and Abuse of Power
🚫 Attacks on Civil Liberties

### What to Expect

The “NO KINGS 2.0” protest is nationwide, planned for over 100 cities on the same day (in Fremont, Berkeley, Napa, Merced, Cambria, Yreka, and more).

⏰ 4:00 PM — We’ll start our protest in the late afternoon.

🎤 5:30 PM — A series of short speeches from local leaders and organizations to inspire us and remind us why our fight, and solidarity, is so important. Speakers include Nancy Saint-Claire, Harpreet Chima, Sandra Vargas, David Diskin, Dian Avery-Kaufman, Ellen Tanouye, and more.

🌇 8:00 PM — We’ll wrap up the protest. Sunset is at 8:30.
To be clear: We are not protesting Independence Day and take no issue with anyone enjoying Lodi Lake. We are highlighting democracy and more. Our family-friendly, non-violent protest will only be on sidewalks and public property, not obstructing anyone who wants to visit the lake. We are working with Lodi Police to ensure a safe demonstration.

This event is organized and supported by a number of local groups including the Greater Lodi Area Democrats, Stockton Atheists, SJC 4 DEI, and Progressive Unity.

### 🪧 Sign-Making and Carpooling

Join us at Panera Bread, Friday at 2 PM, to fuel up and help each other make protest signs. We’ll have the materials and ideas (or bring your own).

We’ll leave at 3:30 PM for Lodi Lake, and can carpool or drop people off.

### 📃 What to Bring

✔️ Protest Signs (please, no sticks)
✔️ Water and Snacks
✔️ Comfortable Shoes, Hat, and Sunscreen

You might want to bring a lawn chair (if you need to sit for a while). We will have a couple canopies for shade.
