Stoicism is different than the stoic (small 's') modern connotation of being a strong, silent man with no emotions. The ancient Greek philosophy of Stoicism was a code of ethics and principles on how to live, and that happiness comes from doing the right thing. Stoicism is for women as much as Mathematics and the Liberal Arts are. This group is to give a warm introduction of the philosophy to women, given the gender leaning this term has had towards men in recent history. However, this group is open to men as well as women!
