Stoic Social: Philosophy, Friends & Pastries

Details
First Meetup – Waynesboro, VA
Join us for the very first gathering of Stoic Social, where good conversation and great pastries meet ancient wisdom. Whether you’re new to Stoicism or already walking the path of reason, this is a space to reflect, connect, and share insights in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
🗣️ Conversation Starter:
We’ll begin with a short discussion on the Stoic idea of “What’s up to us” — a central teaching from Epictetus. Why does this idea matter? How can recognizing what we control (and what we don’t) help us live with greater peace and purpose?
👥 What to Expect:
• Open, guided discussion and Q&A on Stoic philosophy
• No reading or prep required — just bring curiosity
• Meet thoughtful people who enjoy meaningful conversation
🥯 Cost: $5
Includes a variety of delicious Panera pastries, new connections, and a little practical wisdom. (Beverages not included.)
📍 Location Details:
We’ve reserved the alcove at Panera Bread in Waynesboro — when you enter, turn right and head all the way to the end of the restaurant. You’ll find us there with friendly faces and flaky treats.
⸻
Hope to see you there!
