What we’re about
The popular appeal of storytelling at informal gatherings is now undeniable, thanks to the many fine NPR programs and podcasts that are available today. Stories on Stage is creating a new forum at a new venue for a regular weekly storytelling events, basically modeled on The Moth format. We encourage all interested storytellers to share their tales with us but we urge all to prepare carefully so it is an enjoyable and reflective experience for everyone involved. Our goal is to eventually record and podcast our events so our voices are heard as widely as possible. Therefore we are seeking bright, creative and talented Detroit-area writers and speakers to share their tales with us. Each evening we will select the tellers from a hat so everybody has the same chance of being able to perform. Our goal is to encourage and inspire and to learn from each other while building a small community of like-minded friends. Won't you join us?
