Inaugural Stories on Stage Meetup

Our first Stories on Stage event will be on the theme Good Judgment/Bad Judgment. Need we say more? Please prepare a personal true tale up to 8 minutes in length. Tellers will place their names in a hat and names will be selected at random. The room we will meet in is on the second floor and it is a nice, intimate space with a stage with a capacity of about 30, more for standing room. It is quaint enough not to need a microphone but you'll certainly need to articulate and project your voices. There will be a $5 per head charge to cover the cost of room rental tho this may be waived in the future if enough of us drink and eat to make it worthwhile for the restaurant owners. Business is business!

Mo Better Blues is located on the south--side of E. Larned just east of Beaubien in the Greektown area. There is public parking on the streets around and many private lots that typically charge $5 for parking (unless some other big event is happening in the vicinity, in which case they typically double their fees. In case you have never signed up for the new downtown/midtown parking app, it is downloadable at www.parkdetroit.us. The rate is $1 per hour.

Our hope is to feature one or two special guests, both of whom have recently published books. More details in the event reminder notice which we will send out a week prior to the event. Apologies that we did not give you more advance notice but we tried. Our goal is to make this a weekly event so we can build membership and momentum and give as many folks a chance to tell their stories.

To tell a story you must be a member of our meetup. However, guests are also welcome and must also pay the $5 entrance cost. Please feel free to establish a discussion forum and offer us you ideas.

Mo Better Blues is hosting a Martini Madness evening immediately after our meetup so please feel free to stay and enjoy it. All are welcome.

Finally, our room is on the second floor of the venue and there is no elevator. So be forewarned that it is not wheelchair accessible.
