Augmented Reality 101: Business & Marketing

Augmented Reality is a new medium that is slowly, but surely, creeping into our everyday life. The most popular tool that uses this new technology is Snapchat, platform that many use not just as entertainment, but also to communicate and even market their products!

In this basic workshop you will learn:

• Basic principles about what Augmented Reality is, how it is currently being used and the opportunities that this new medium represents in the near future.

• Navigate Snapchat’s creation software: Lens Studio.

• Create your own filters.

• Upload your filters to Snapchat so you can send them to your friends, or use them to market your business.

• How to integrate AR professionally to your business to create promotions and object visualizations.

To participate you’ll need to bring:

1. Your laptop with Lens Studio already installed. You can get it for free here:

NOTE: Lens Studio currently requires the below specifications:

-Operating System: Windows 10 (64 bit); MacOS 10.10+
-Hardware: Minimum of Intel Core i3 2.5Ghz or AMD Phenom II 2.6Ghz with 4 GB RAM; Intel HD Graphics 4000 / Nvidia GeForce 710 / AMD Radeon HD 6450 or better; screen resolution of 1280x768 or higher

2. Your smartphone with the Snapchat App installed and a Snapchat account.

Realidad Aumentada 101: Negocios y Mercadeo

La realidad aumentada (AR, por sus siglas en inglés) es un nuevo medio que poco a poco está infiltrando nuestro día a día. La herramienta más popular que usa esta nueva tecnología es el medio social Snapchat, plataforma que muchos usan no sólo para comunicarse y divertirse, pero también como herramienta de mercadeo.

En este taller básico aprenderás:

• Principios básicos sobre qué es la realidad aumentada, cuáles son sus usos actuales y las oportunidades que este nuevo medio representa en el futuro cercano.

• Como navegar la herramienta de creación que usa Snapchat: Lens Studio

• Como crear tus propios filtros

• A subir tus creaciones a Snapchat, enviarlas a tus amigos o usarlas para mercadear tu negocio.

• Cómo puedes utilizar Realidad Aumentada profesionalmente para negocios, promociones y visualizaciones de objetos
