What we’re about
The best way to get to know someone is to listen to their stories. Everyone has a story even if they think they don’t, and up in the hills of Lisbon, once a month, a random, eclectic, curious group of people gather to listen to these first-person stories told in an intimate setting.
While it is sort of like The Moth—we do want first-person stories that are short in length—we give you a few extra minutes (stories should be 7-10 min) and there is no competition or scoring. You should expect a friendly and welcoming audience sipping red wine or herbal tea while they share in the vulnerable moments of life. We usually have 10 storytellers. There is also an intermission which offers everyone a chance to socialize.
We welcome everyone. Listeners. Storytellers. And people who have never told a story on stage but have an itch to try. Please join us.

See all- Storytelling Night—"THE MORNING AFTER"Fábrica Braço de Prata, Lisboa
Summer is over and we are back! Our theme for September is "THE MORNING AFTER."
Give us stories of aftermaths and awakenings. The night that felt endless, until dawn came with its clarity—or its consequences. The party, the promise, the passion that seemed like the best idea in the world, and then the next day arrived. The morning when everything had changed, or nothing had.
Tell us about the times when the light of day revealed something hidden in the dark—funny, tender, or terrifying. We want the stories of aftermath, reckoning, resilience, or relief. What did the morning after bring you?
As always, interpret the theme freely.
Please come just to listen or get on stage, be vulnerable, and share with us, a diverse group of welcoming and open people who are curious about each others' lives. Stories will last from 7 to 10 minutes. Expect ten stories plus an intermission.
We will hold our event at Fábrica Braço de Prata, an enormous multi-roomed centro cultural in Marvila that hosts everything from salsa bands to intimate piano concerts to philosophical comedy. To accommodate everyone, we will be in the outdoor tent right inside the gate to Fábrica Braço de Prata. Love is a popular edition, arrive early to get good seats.
Storytelling Lisboa is a completely free event run by volunteers. We welcome everyone to get on stage! Absolutely no experience is necessary.
We only ask that stories be true and personal and that they are performed as opposed to read—and they should be stories instead of philosophical musings, motivational speeches, or stand-up routines.
The content is completely at the discretion of the storyteller as long as it is related in the monthly theme and respectful to the diversity and experiences of all humans.
Interested in sharing a story? We give spots on a first come, first serve basis. Please fill out our form here: https://forms.gle/kkGhEM47BLF4WRkg9
