December brings our new theme: “BOSSES.”

Tell us about the people who gave orders, shaped your path, or made you question every life choice.

Maybe it’s the first job where you learned what power feels like. Maybe it’s the moment you stood up to someone in charge. Maybe you were the boss, and discovered that authority is stranger, heavier, funnier, or more human than you expected.

We want stories of hierarchy and rebellion, of influence and impact, of the moments when power dynamics shifted—quietly or with a bang. Tell us what happened when someone took charge… or when you finally did.

As always, interpret the theme freely.

Please come just to listen or get on stage, be vulnerable, and share with us, a diverse group of welcoming and open people who are curious about each others' lives. Stories will last from 7 to 10 minutes. Expect ten stories plus an intermission.

We will hold our event at Fábrica Braço de Prata, an enormous multi-roomed centro cultural in Marvila that hosts everything from salsa bands to intimate piano concerts to philosophical comedy. To accommodate everyone, we will be in the outdoor tent right inside the gate to Fábrica Braço de Prata. Love is a popular edition, arrive early to get good seats.

Storytelling Lisboa is a completely free event run by volunteers. We welcome everyone to get on stage! Absolutely no experience is necessary.

We only ask that stories be true and personal and that they are performed as opposed to read—and they should be stories instead of philosophical musings, motivational speeches, or stand-up routines.

The content is completely at the discretion of the storyteller as long as it is related in the monthly theme and respectful to the diversity and experiences of all humans.

Interested in sharing a story? We give spots on a first come, first serve basis. Please fill out our form here: https://forms.gle/kkGhEM47BLF4WRkg9
