December can be a busy, stressful month for some, and maybe a hard and lonely one for others.

But it used to be a time for storytelling.

If you need to take a quick break from your holiday to-do list, or would just like to experience a bit of what this time of year meant for us before phones and full calendars, come and find me December 4th, 11th and 18th. I’ll be at the Panera in Prince Frederick (874 Costley Way, Prince Frederick, MD 20678) from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm for Storytelling Office Hours.

You’ll see me with a green Santa hat and an open seat available. Come sit down whenever you’re available and hear a story! I’ll be sharing some old Celtic myths and legends, some holiday-themed folklore and maybe even a local story or two. The stories are as short or about as long as you’ve got time for.

If you want to storytelling to be a part of your holiday activities, then I hope you'll stop by. I've some that I hope won't disappoint. (If you’d like to share some of your own, so much the merrier, but you’re under no obligation to.)

If loneliness is an issue during the holidays, also consider this a no-questions-asked invitation to grab a seat, listen and hang out for a little while.
