Samhain Celebration: Cancelled

Details

Important Update: Please let me know if anyone's interested in coming by 1pm at the latest today, else the event will be cancelled.

Hello everyone! I'm hosting a Samhain celebration for anyone who's interested in celebrating the turn of the season. We will be doing a range of traditional and modern activities to mark the occassion.

Activities: All activities are open for suggestion but I'm planning to have a 'make your own candy apple' station, a channelling or divination circle/practice, a space for us to talk about our loved ones who have passed or any current grief we are experiencing, and a chance to just sit, talk, and eat together to celebrate life and each other. We can also do a releasing ritual or share ghost stories. It really is up to what you prefer!

If people are interested, we can do a base/root chakra meditation together, which is associated with samhain, or a samhain meditation itself. Let me know if you are interested so I can prepare this and the space beforehand.

Altar: I also think doing an altar will be lovely, so bring items along (however small) to build our own samhain space. Items include: elder or fall flowers/leaves; animals related to the season, such as bats, black cats, owls, spiders, or ravens; anything related to scorpio or the base chakra; black, orange, or brown candles; items related to death; seasonal food appropriate for altar use (anything that won't leak everywhere or make a mess essentially). Please bring whatever you like centred around any of these!

We can also do an ancestor altar if people would like, bringing photos of loved ones who have passed away or items related to/belonging to them. Feel free to also bring food offerings for them but remember that the food can only be there for the space of the event and not after.

Food: This is a potluck so bring any seasonal delights you like, including drinks! I will bring some food and drink myself, but everyone is encouraged to do the same! Bring anything you like, just bear in mind any major allergies.

If you have any dietary requirements, please let me know at least 48 hours beforehand (but asap if you can) so I can cater to everyone.

Traditional samhain food includes anything with pumpkin, gourds, apples, nuts, apple cider or mead, or corn!

Let me know, if possible, what you're bringing beforehand if you do intend to so we don't have too much of one or two things. Homemade food holds a little more magic and intention, but store bought food is equally as fine and delicious.

Dress code: None but if you did want to wear anything samhain inspired or wear fancy dress, feel free!

Date and Location: 31st October, Mary Stevens Centre, 221 Hagley Road, Stourbridge, DY8 2JR. Please ring the doorbell at the door.

Important Points (PLEASE READ):
There is a sizable car park and the centre is right next to Stourbridge Junction and a bus stop.

There are multiple doorbells, so if there is no response, please ring them all as the building is large and needs a bell for each section.

The building itself is known for being occupied by spirits and some are a little malevolent. This is fine, as they're on the abandoned top floor and don't travel down, but please bring protection or protect yourself beforehand. I will not be taking anyone up there nor are you encouraged to go whilst the veil is thin. You do so at your own risk.
