St Pete Atheists is a welcoming community for social connection, personal growth, and community service. However you think of it, if belief in gods and other magical make believe is not central or meaningful to your life, you're welcome to find common cause here with others who value creativity, compassion, diversity, and honesty.
You are not alone! We're defined by more than the "dictionary definition" atheism of just not happening to be theists in a world historically built around God-talk, a world that is already in the process of evolving away from that part of our collective past.
Members of St Pete Atheists are everyday people committed to standing up not only for ourselves, but for all who face unjust prejudice or systemic discrimination. Together, our voices of reason and empathy can magnify the beauty and value that is waiting for each person to discover in the world around us! As the Great Agnostic, Robert Ingersoll, once said: "The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to make others so."
