Pragmatic Working Group - activation

Details
Are you frustrated, anxious or horrified by the state of current events? From increasing violence to knee-jerk vitriol, the constant hostility that seems to permeate the world around us can be exhausting.
Want to do something about it, but don't know where to start? You're not alone. St. Pete Atheists will pilot a Pragmatic Working Group to hold periodic meetings to share and review tools that we can put to immediate use. Let's find ways to survive this together!
CONSIDER: Political violence is on the rise, but political power must never emanate from the barrel of a gun.
Our opponents stand ready and waiting to cast aside their last pretense of restraint and civility. Yet, if we are to meet the moment, then we must return to the teachings of Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr, to once again, “Rise to the majestic heights of meeting physical force with soul force.”
The question, in the age of social media, is how. That is the agenda in updating our strategies and sharing our respective thoughts. We need to staunch the flow of blood running through our streets, regardless of who spilled it, and refocus on creating a future that benefits us all.
As atheists, we're used to asking questions that many people avoid. More than that, we have the power to bring real-world knowledge, skills, and experience to bear in search of serious answers that draw upon our combined perspectives. No one has all the answers; nevertheless, we can do more as a purpose-driven community than as isolated individuals.
