Please join us for our annual Extra Life event! We'll be gaming Saturday evening to raise money for charity. Join us online from the comfort of your home!
WHAT IS EXTRA LIFE! ?
Queen City Game Club is just part of a coalition of Charlotte gamers (https://www.facebook.com/groups/ExtraLifeCLT/) sponsoring teams for the 24-hour game marathon, Extra Life (http://www.extra-life.org/)! Please join us in playing board games to raise money to save kids!
The Charlotte Gamers United Extra Life! team has chosen to support Levine Children's Hospital, where thousands of children are treated each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. These kids are facing serious threats to their health, like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents, to name just a few. Charlotte gamers have raised over $170,000 for Levine Children's Hospital since Extra Life began.
This fall, we'll be part of a huge international celebration of the social impact of gamers with Extra Life. We invite you to come join the celebration!

HOW DOES A VIRTUAL EVENT WORK?
We will be using the Queen City Game Club Discord server for voice chat. Speakers and a microphone are recommended for voice chat, although you're welcome just to type if you wish. See the provided "Link to Online Event" to join Discord.
We'll be playing games on multiple platforms to suit your comfort level:
BOARDGAME ARENA
Boardgame Arena is an online service that runs in any web browser and has many popular tabletop games. The interface is point-and-click. Many games are free, although some games are only available with a modest subscription fee, but only the host needs the subscription, and we will have a member available to run those games.
TABLETOP SIMULATOR
Tabletop Simulator (TTS) is a physics engine that makes you feel like you are sitting at the game table! Many popular games are available to play. TTS is available on Steam at https://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/Tabletop_Simulator/. It is a one-time cost to purchase.

BOARDGAME APPS
Many popular boardgames have apps in the Steam, iOS and Google Play stores. In particular, many Asmodee games have crossplay between Steam, iOS and Android versions. If there is an app-based game you would like to play, please note it in the comments and we can try to organize a play group.
