When the concept of a data mesh was first introduced, it initiated a broad discussion of the need for a decentralized data architecture. While there’s no doubt that monolithic enterprise architectures are a thing of the past, one of the issues that arose was whether data mesh could meet the needs of increasingly popular stream processing.

During this panel discussion, participants will dissect the very concept of streaming data mesh, emphasize the distinctions between streaming and batch data meshes, and showcase the typical problems encountered during the implementation. They will also address the concerns that data mesh, as such, is nothing but a buzzword and open the discussion on whether it empowers data teams across the organization.

Panelists:
- Hubert Dulay, Solutions Architect at StarTree and author of Streaming Data Mesh
- Ralph M. Debusmann, Enterprise Kafka Engineer at Migros
- Xiangyu (Samuel) Hu, Head of Cloud Engineering at RisingWave Labs
