Photographers Gallery - Double Bill

Details
The Photographers Gallery will run two major exhibitions in March.
The first exhibition is Deutsche Burse Photography Foundation Prize 2019.
The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize is an annual award established by The Photographers’ Gallery, London, in 1997 and in partnership with the Deutsche Börse Group since 2005 to identify and support talent, excellence and innovation. In 2016 the prize was renamed to reflect its new position within the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, a specifically established non-profit organisation focused on the collecting, exhibiting and promoting of contemporary photography.
The second exhibition is the first major UK exhibition dedicated to the work of this hugely influential American photographer Dave Heath.
Heath’s psychologically charged images both reflect and respond to the alienation particularly prevalent in post war North American society. He was one of the first of a new generation of artists seeking new ways to try and make sense of the increasing sense of isolation and vulnerability that typified the age.
We will meet at TPG cafe at 11am and spend at least an hour going through the exhibitions. Thereafter we will walk though Soho and West End and photograph in the streets of London
Please bring with you fully charged cameras.
The event fee is £10 per person including the day ticket to the gallery.
