Speakers and topics

Ivett Ördög - Hard decisions: when rationality fails you

About 2 years ago I faced the hardest decision in my life. It had nothing to do with my role as a leader, it was a personal decision. That decision has changed not only my life, but also how I view decisions in general, because it was so profoundly harder than any decision I had to make before. I had to learn a new set of skills just to grapple with it. So what makes a decision hard? Is it always true that the wrong decision is better than no decision at all? How can you make a choice when your rational arguments fail? What if you cant course correct once you committed to your choice?"
Ivett is a Lead Developer and a frequent speaker at conferences around Europe. As a founding member of Emarsys CraftLab - the dedicated coaching team of Emarsys - she has taught university courses, talked at numerous conferences and visited multiple companies as an external consultant. Her passion for short feedback loops drove her to create Lean Poker (http://leanpoker.org), a workshop where developers have the opportunity to experiment with continuous delivery in a safe environment. She is also the creator and host of the Morning Commute YouTube channel (

Crux Conception (Stacey Jenkins) - The Message

No matter what profession you’re in, our jobs can contain a variety of stress factors, which are unknown to individuals looking from the outside.
“The Message” is a lecture-based on research that recommends corporations should devote in IT-specific employee assistance agendas. Working as a Developer, Specialist, Designer, Engineer, Expert, Manager, and Technician demands a high level of precision over an extended period, and any minute lapse in one’s job could be disastrous.
Crux’s approach derives from his experience as an adjunct professor (psychology & group dynamics) and experience as an interrogator/profiler and hostage negotiator.
Aside from offering awareness and education, Crux will share with the audience an unfortunate incident, which happened to him. His experience with said incident will display his passion for mental health advocacy and the desire to make a difference in someone’s life.
