From the Belcourt site: Once the center of the New York bohemia, Greenwich Village is now home to luxe restaurants and buzzer door clothing stores catering to the nouveau riche. But one shop in the heart of the Village remains resilient to the encroaching gentrification: Carmine Street Guitars. There, custom guitar maker Rick Kelly and his young apprentice Cindy Hulej build handcrafted guitars out of reclaimed wood from old hotels, bars, churches and other local buildings. Nothing looks or sounds quite like a Rick Kelly guitar, which is why they’re embraced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Patti Smith and Jim Jarmusch (to name but a few). Featuring a cast of prominent musicians and artists, the film captures five days in the life of Carmine Street Guitars, while examining an all-too-quickly vanishing way of life.

For those that want, we will meet at Fido at 6:30 to grab food and hang out before the movie at 8:10. I will be at the theater by 7:50. We can find seats together or, if you prefer to sit separately, I totally understand.

A note about parking: if you are seeing a movie, the Belcourt offers FREE PARKING. If you buy your ticket online, there is a portion of the ticket you can tear off to put on your dashboard. If you purchase at the box office, they will give you a parking pass. Parking is free two hours before and two hours after the movie, so you can leave your car there for the meetup portion if you like.

Let me know if you are coming to Fido so I can find a big enough table! Feel free to text or message me if you have questions. See you tonight!
