Details
From the Belcourt site: ECHO IN THE CANYON celebrates the explosion of popular music that emerged from L.A.’s Laurel Canyon in the mid-60s as folk went electric. The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, and The Mamas & the Papas gave birth to the California Sound, coalescing in the Canyon to collaboratively evolve the music of their beloved predecessors—deeply imprinting their celebrated harmonies and progressive poetry into an influential sphere of American music.
Featuring Jakob Dylan leading candid conversations; performances with Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Michelle Phillips, Eric Clapton, Stephen Stills, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Roger McGuinn and Jackson Browne; and contemporary musicians influenced by the era, including Tom Petty (in his very last film interview), Beck, Fiona Apple, Cat Power, Regina Spektor and Norah Jones.
