Strictly Classical: It's Chopin's birthday!
Details
It's March 1, Chopin's birthday! We at Strictly Classical are pulling out all the stops for you Chopinians who rejoice in his music and wish to perform it for other Chopin fanatics like you! Of course, I invited my favorite interpreter of all things Chopin, Seong-Jin Cho, but he's in Germany somewhere giving a concert. He sends his regards! As I say these days, there's Chopin, and then there's CHO-pin. (laugh now) Seriously, there is so much material to choose from: the preludes, the mazurkas, the ballades, the nocturnes, the sonatas, the symphonic music, the berceuse, the etudes, and more. If I can get my hands on some polish food, I'll serve it. Otherwise, it will be coffee and snacks. You won't want to miss this event because of the sheer beauty and complexity of the music. I seriously hope that you'll RSVP to this event, even if you've said no to the others. Of course, you can play whatever piece you're working on after the Chopin. Once you RSVP, I'll provide the address and details. As usual, performers only, no spectators; let's keep it small and intimate. See you then!
