About us

A community for women over 40 who want to get stronger, move better and age well, whether you’ve never exercised or you’re coming back after years away. Most of you are 50 to 75. Everything here is free.

WHAT WE DO

Once a month, a free live strength class on Zoom. Thirty minutes, resistance bands or just bodyweight, every move with an easier option. Cameras optional.

Once a month, a free live talk and discussion on Zoom: strength after menopause, bone density, balance, sore joints, and how to start when you’ve never liked exercise. We open with introductions and finish with Q&A, so bring your questions.

A few times a year, we meet in person in Toronto for a free outdoor class or a walk-and-talk. Members from outside the city are always welcome online.

Between events, the discussion board is for questions, wins and the occasional dad joke.

WHO IT’S FOR

You’ve been told to “do strength training” and nobody showed you how. You might walk, swim or do yoga already and feel like something’s missing. You’re nervous about being the least fit person in the room. That’s fine. Nobody here is treated like they’re fragile.

WHO RUNS IT

Andrew Blakey, a Toronto strength coach with a degree in Kinesiology and ten years of coaching women over 40.

More than anything, Andrew loves to teach. He believes good information about strength and aging should be easy to find and should come from people who actually know what they’re talking about, not from whoever shouts loudest online.

Too many women over 50 have been handed fear, fads and bad advice, and he started this group to offer the opposite: clear, credible, practical education, for free, from someone who has spent a decade doing the work.
