Family Drum Unity thru behavioral principles.

Children learn in these fun and dynamic drum classes with their caregiver. They will enhance skills in problem solving, communication, and creative expression while developing pro-social behaviors and positive interactions. The parent will be actively engaged in the class to reaffirm the attachment bond thru participation and smiling with their child!

Family Drumming workshop objectives:

Creative Expression
• Improvise and drum variations spontaneously
• Play a basic rhythmic pattern, melodic sounds and/or a simple musical form
• Use one’s body as a musical instrument and improve verbal behavior

Socialization
• Making connections, working on relationships, and collaboration within a group
• Team building, turn taking, waiting/impulse control, and active listening
• Imitating, tracking, attending to others, and appropriate play skills

Fine/Gross Motor Skills
• Develop fine/gross motor abilities, timing, and hand eye coordination
• Work on muscular strength and endurance through physical activity by changing tempo

Parent Skill Development
• Learn a variety of prompting strategies and techniques to shape behavior
• Enhance modeling, delayed cuing skills contextually, and proactive/reactive strategies
• Develop a positive learning history with your child and Identifying reinforcers
