If you can, please attend in person or virtually, the San Diego City Planning Commission's meeting.
The ADU Bonus Program is a critically needed component for fixing San Diego's housing shortage and affordability crisis. We agree that there are issues that need to be amended to ensure that the program is not taken advantage of by individuals with no stake in the neighborhoods tha ADUs are being built in.
You can also attend virtually via zoom: https://sandiego.zoomgov.com/j/1609440367

I strongly SUPPORT the ADU Bonus Program because it's created 368 affordable homes for middle-class residents in neighborhoods where they'd otherwise be priced out. I OPPOSE the "Community Enhancement Fee" (Item 22) because it adds costs to small units, pricing out affordable homes. I OPPOSE the new parking requirements (Item 18) because they waste space on pavement instead of people and add costs that kill affordable projects. I SUPPORT the separate sale provision (Item 23) because it creates homeownership opportunities for first-time buyers. [ Optional personal note: How housing costs affect you or someone you know]
