🚸 Tactical Urbanism Action Day
📅 When: Sunday, August 17th 10 AM - 2 PM
📍 Where: Start at GEM Coffee, daylight City Heights, Kensington, Talmadge
👥 Who: Anyone who wants to take part
🧰 How: Participants will be put in groups of 2-5 and assigned a location in the three neighborhoods Each group will receive flyers and large red chalk to "daylight" 1–3 intersections. Materials will be picked up from a central coordination point (GEM Coffee).

To follow up on the success of our May and July tactical urbanism events, we are putting together another event, this time focused on the mid-city neighborhoods of City Heights, Kensington, and Talmadge.

This is a hands-on, community-powered event focused on daylighting intersections in walkable neighborhoods to increase visibility and pedestrian safety—especially with California’s AB413 daylighting law now in effect.

Groups document their work and send photos to [strongtownssandiego@gmail.com](mailto:strongtownssandiego@gmail.com). That’s it—quick, impactful, and 100% community-led.

After: Participants are invited to come back to GEM Coffee after to discuss and celebrate taking meaningful direct action. This is a low-key, high-impact action, not posted on social media in advance. The goal is not to claim credit, but to make streets safer through visibility and community engagement. We’ll share photos afterward to celebrate the work.
