Enjoy a nice walk around the neighborhood while getting to know the many places we have and how local groups are working to improve them. Each walk is a loop that takes 30-60 minutes at a modest pace and includes a place to get a treat. We will meet as a group, walk, observe the local urbanism, and discuss what we see.

Meet at High School Park. Corner of Montgomery Ave & High School Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027. Parking (paid) is available just up the street in a municipal lot, or there is street parking around. A few free spots are on High School Road. Transit access via Regional Rail and the 28 bus.

Route: Start at High School and Montgomery (optional: stop in at Goat House Creamery across the street before starting). Walk northeast on High School to Church, turn left. Walk to 611/Old York Road and turn left, left on Stahr, right on Montgomery. Right on Park, follow to large intersection with High School Road, turn left to go back to the Park. Total distance 1.1 miles, includes a big hill and street crossings. Approx 25 minutes. After completing the main walk, there will be a short walk through High School Park, about .25 miles, on grass.

Local places of interest: Triangle of little shops, history of High School Park and Ogontz Park, traffic challenges on Church Road and 611, Elkins Park Library, little shops on 611/Ervien vs "big box" stores with large lots, ambiance of various streets.
