Details
http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/d/6/0/600_269216672.jpegWe have arranged to be the FIRST ever photography group that will be allowed on site after dark! This is an unique opportunity to have access to an abandoned location, legally, for low light and light painting.
The price of this meetup includes the cost of access to the site, which RRTP has arranged with the owners.
Bring your big flashlights and lets do some Light Painting!! We will meet at 1:00pm and have 4 hours to photograph until sunset and then an additional 2 hours after sunset. This should allow for some great photography!!
We have also arranged to photograph the W.A.Young Machine Shop on Sunday. This will be a separate meetup and not included in the price for this meetup.
Before registering for this meetup please download and read the attached release. A release is required for every participant.

From Wikipedia:
Carrie Furnace is a derelict former blast furnace located along the Monongahela River in the Pittsburgh area industrial town of Rankin, Pennsylvania. It had formed a part of the Homestead Steel Works. The Carrie Furnaces were built in 1884 and they operated until 1982. During its peak, the site produced 1000 to 1250 tons of iron per day. All that is left of the site are furnaces #6 and #7, which operated from 1907 - 1978,along with the hot metal bridge.
We have reserved a block of rooms for those who want to spend the night or join us at W.A Young on Sunday.
