Let's go Deep (learning)!

Details

Our final Meetup for 2019 is coming up and will happen on December 4 at our cozy loft on Alexanderstrasse 36.
Don't miss a chance to discuss exciting topics with our enthusiastic speakers over a beer or a soft drink!

  1. Our first speaker Tobias is talking about "5 elements of AI" - a standardised approach for AI projects to find business cases, increase productivity and allow for faster deployment: https://www.5elements.ai

Tobias is a Senior Consultat for CGI, with a background in Fullstack development, he shifted into AI.

2)Software is eating the world as every corporation is slowly becoming a software company. The reason for this is that technology is about to become one of the key differentiators for businesses in an ever increasing global competition.

To increase developer productivity and allow for faster deployment. Businesses need to adapt new technologies and change their approach with respect to how they are managing their data and leverage the cloud whilst maintaining flexibility and prevent the threat of vendor lock-in.

The talk is a general introduction into document databases and how they can be used to make development easier, faster and more flexible. Furthermore a simplified hands on example will be provided on how to use document databases in ML & AI using MongoDB Atlas.
In the workshop, we are going to use MongoDB Aggregation Pipelines to select a subset of data from a polymorphic dataset that is then used as a base table that will be preprocessed and used for machine learning in Python. In the training process of the model, MongoDB will be used to store the training results which makes complex training processes easier and reduces the memory consumption on the machine that runs the training whilst keeping all the information on the tested hyperparameter combinations.
Put in a nutshell, the talk is meant to bridge the gap between NoSQL and Machine Learning.

SO BRING YOUR LAPTOPS!

Our speaker Julian is a Solutions Architect for MongoDB, with a background in Economics and finance, he shifted into IT from his former role in Management Consulting by obtaining a MSc. in Big Data and thereby deepening his know how in Data-Management and AI.
