As creative problem solvers, working together is at the heart of our work – but are we approaching collaboration in the right way? How might we use feedback to build better? In what way could we be designing stronger teams that are ready to take on the impossible?
Join Melissa Breker (Breker Group) and Damian Jolley (BSTRO) as they share what it means to bridge the gap to work together better.
Feedback fuels better design - Damian Jolley
Feedback, something we spend every day providing and receiving – but do we consider it as often as we should? Feedback processes and loops are important for design, and make us better. During his talk Damian will share some insights and thoughts on feedback, and how it can drive better design.
Damian has worked for several agencies in print and design. In 2009 Damian took a leap of faith and moved to Vancouver, for a new adventure – where his love of web design really took off. He is currently working for BSTRO in Gastown. Clients appreciate his instincts for translating business objectives and company culture into stunning designs. Damian also blogs, bikes, laughs, drinks coffee and goes to concerts.
Collaboration, Communication, and Credibility. Building stronger teams across design and content - Melissa Breker
Starting the content conversation across departmental teams can seem tricky. In fact, it can seem impossible.
Whether you work independently, or are part of larger project team, this presentation will share some ways to better plan for content projects, reduce conflict, and improve internal communication.
Like any conversation, understanding your audience, creating a shared vision for content, and using the right approach can not only align different roles, but improve engagement for content across your organization.
This session will uncover how you can:
• Build content leadership and community across cross-functional teams
• Use a digital governance framework to understand organizational readiness for content strategy
• Help frame, facilitate, and get buy-in for a strategic approach to technical content
• Understand the requirements to start the process of change
For over fifteen years, Melissa has worked with teams to help create exceptional experiences with content. As a strategic thinker, workshop leader, and coach, she helps financial institutions, government, and non-profits grow and shift through the process of change. With a collaborative, analytical, and thoughtful approach to all that she does, Melissa works to inspire and evolve teams to generate results.
