🌮 Sunday Fun in Elgin: Riverside Lunch + Lords Park 🌳🦬
Let’s take advantage of one of our remaining beautiful-weather Sundays!
We’ll meet at 12:00 PM at El Patio Mexican Restaurant in downtown Elgin for Mexican food and a relaxed Sunday lunch near the Fox River.

After lunch, we’ll take a short drive over to Lords Park, a beautiful 108-acre park with mature trees, lagoons, walking paths and a historic pavilion. We’ll take an easy, leisurely 1–2 mile walk and stop by the park’s year-round animal area to see the bison, elk and white-tailed deer. 🦬🦌

We’ll regroup near the zoo entrance. Anyone who would like to follow me from the restaurant is welcome to drive over with the group.

🌧️ WEATHER BACKUP: If Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, we’ll still have lunch and then head to the Elgin Public Museum, located inside Lords Park. It’s a small natural history and anthropology museum, so our Sunday plans are on either way!

THE PLAN
🌮 12:00–1:30 PM — Lunch at El Patio
🌳 1:30 PM — Meet at Lords Park Zoo entrance
🦬 1:30–2:00 PM — Visit the bison, elk and deer
🚶 2:00–4:00 PM — Easy, leisurely 1–2 mile walk through the park with time for pics

🏛️ Rainy-day plan: Elgin Public Museum after lunch
Come for a relaxing Sunday afternoon, good food, good company and hopefully some beautiful September weather!
